What happens when you skip breakfast?

We have heard it from our elders that breakfast is the most important meal of the day so have breakfast to your fullest. But this is what we young generation don't take it seriously. Specially college and university going students, they mostly skip their breakfasts and prefer eating in cafeterias. Initially, it is okay and satifying but there are many harmful and prolong effects of skipping breakfast. 
The main reason why people usually skip breakfast is laziness. Yes, they couldn't manage their routine especially their sleep and wake cycle that led them towards laziness and weakness. And for school going children, mothers didn't play their role properly. They totally relay on their children what they want in  breakfast or they want to eat something in school. From having desi loaded breakfast of Paratha, Lassi ( buttermilk) , desi ghee we have shifted ourselves to ready to eat cereals just because of our laziness. We prefer bread and breakfast cereals that are better than skipping breakfast but skill they are not enough in providing nutrients. Here are 3 harmful effects to your body that happens when you skip this meal. 

Weight Gain:

Skipping breakfast can easily lead to weight gain. This is because your body has not consumed anything after night and also in the morning you don't prefer to have breakfast. But after sometime your body will start signaling low energy levels, you will feel lethargic and dull. In that phase you want to eat something that can boost you up. Mostly, people move towards sugary things and also refer eating high calorie food in order to meet their requirement. But those sugary and fast food items will definitely cause weight gain and you will never know why you are getting over weight.


Gastric Issues:

One of the main effect is gastric problems. This is because we remain empty stomach and there are many secretions that took place in our stomach. In case, if there is any food that you have taken, that secretions will act on that food present in stomach. But when you skip breakfast, your stomach remains empty from night and in that time period stomach secretions still produces and that secretions started to act on the walls of stomach. This leads to ulcers and other gastric problems. 

Low Energy Levels:

When a person avoids breakfast, that person remains dull and lethargic as compared to others who enjoy this meal time to fullest. In this way energy level remains low and brain doesn't function properly. If you are a student or employee, your whole day progress depends upon what you have taken in your breakfast. Your brain remains sharpen and critical thinking abilities will be polished.
